Overview
Conquest is a massively multiplayer online (MMO) grand strategy game set in the Middle Ages, where gameplay unfolds on a world map. Players use NFTs to control territories, nations, and armies. This genre is recognized for its deep mechanics and systems, providing an immersive sandbox-style experience.
My role
UX/UI Designer
For Project Conquest, my focus was on designing a UX/UI that balanced a strong medieval theme with ease of use. By carefully selecting colors, fonts, and layouts, collaborating with game designers, integrating NFTs, and working with artists and graphic designers, we created an intuitive and immersive experience. Despite the game’s deep strategic mechanics, the interface remained accessible, allowing players to focus on their conquests without friction.

Collaborating with Game Designers
A key part of the process was working closely with game designers to understand the mechanics and gameplay flow. This collaboration helped ensure that the UI wasn’t just visually appealing but also enhanced the overall experience. By aligning the interface with the game’s strategic depth, we made sure players could easily navigate complex mechanics without feeling overwhelmed.

Integrating NFTs
One of the game’s unique features was its NFT integration, where every action involved a transaction. This added an extra layer of strategy but also required a seamless, user-friendly design. Our goal was to make the transaction process smooth and intuitive, ensuring players felt comfortable and confident using the NFT features.
Capturing the Medieval Theme
To match the medieval setting, we used a warm yellow accent for a historical touch and a dark cyan background to add contrast and depth. For typography, EB Garamond was chosen for headings to give a traditional feel, while Inter was used for body text to keep it clear and easy to read. This combination made the interface visually fitting for the theme while staying user-friendly.

Visual elements played a major role in making the interface both functional and immersive. We collaborated with artists to create detailed backgrounds and characters that brought the medieval world to life. Our graphic designers crafted icons that were clear, consistent, and easy to recognize, helping players quickly understand actions and resources. These design choices reduced the learning curve and made navigation seamless.
